WENRA Inspection Working Group (WIG)
The WENRA Inspection Group (WIG) concluded its work in 2012.
The objective of the WENRA inspection working group was to benchmark European regulatory practices for verifying design and quality of nuclear power plant steel and concrete structures and mechanical components, especially pressurized equipment, both at new and existing reactors. WIG scucesfully identified several good practices, most of them related to the use of independent inspection organizations that could be used for harmonization of inspection practices within WENRA countries. The WIG fullfilled its mandate with the final report published in 2012.
